Coffee Island has signed a three-year contract of cooperation with the department of Biochemistry & Biotechnology of the University of Thessaly in order to research the different varieties of coffee and coffee beverages.
The contract was signed between our company and professor Mr. Dimitris Kouretas of the department. With this innovative cooperation the positive health effects of coffee can be studied, in regards of the quality and quantity that is consumed.
Mr. Kouretas remarked that no equivalent study has been done in an international level and said that there are no in depth information regarding coffee varieties. More specifically he said: “Coffee and its positive effects on health is a field that hasn’t been deeply researched in regards to quality, or quantity consumed”.
The first results of this research will be presented in the end of 2015 and while the research is ongoing, job positions will also be created.
We are excited and proud that Coffee Island is moving forward with an important partnership such as this as it manages to get the opportunity to prove that it take coffee seriously.
