Since 2007 the European Business Awards are given yearly and have been rewarding European companies of all kinds and size from the entire business world, for their excellence, big and innovative practices in a range of different industries, including beauty products, pharmaceuticals, mechanics, fashion, manufacturing and transport.

The praises come from an audience made up by heads of state, top industrialists, businessmen, CEOs, Media owners and academics from 33 European nations.

We are in the position to inform you that Coffee Island as a parent company & our network of coffee roasters, has been chosen by judges as one of the 10 finalists for the Ruban d‘Honneur categories. To be more precise, we are participating in the category, The Growth Strategy of the Year Award 2014/15.

Based on this occasion we would like to thank you and congratulate our whole team at Coffee Island because this success is due to our collective success.

With this distinction we are now in the final stage of the Award procedure. This means that we have been chosen as one of the most dynamic and healthy Franchise systems of Europe, by applying the basic principles of the European Business Awards: Success- Innovation- Ethos and Extroversion.

The judges of the European Business Awards are made up of top names of the business word, academics, businessmen and political leaders such as Karel De Gucht (former EU Trade Commissioner), Yves Leterme (former Belgian Prime Minister), Jose Aznar (former Prime Minister of Spain), Arnold Rüütel (former Prime Minister of Estonia), Emil Constantinescu (former President of Romania), Petar Stoyanov (former President of Bulgaria), Isidoro Unda (CEO of Atradius), Peter Brabeck-Lethmathe (former CEO of Nestle), Gilbert Ghostine (Managing Director of Diageo Continental Europe).

We are especially happy that our company is considered a model example for business excellence in Europe and we would like to remind you of the process that brought us this far.

  1. We submitted our registration online with another 24.000 applicants from 33 European countries.
  2. We were chosen as National Champions by judges according to the registration form, along with another 69 Greek companies in the category “The BP Target Neutral Growth Strategy of the Year Award”.
  3. We produced a video to support our nomination as National champions that was published on the EBA’s website so that the audience and judges could vote.
  4. The Ruban D’Honneur receivers are chosen based on their online Application Form & Video submission. We were chosen from a pool of 110 companies in Europe and from the 70 Greek companies that took place only 7 were chosen for the next phase. The category for which we were chosen was Growth Strategy of the Year.
  5. Next step is for the… winners to be chosen in the Ruban d’ Honneur face to face judging sessions and will be announced at the final gala of the EBAs
